Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut Launches December 2025

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio are set to give Yakuza 0 another moment in the spotlight. After making its way to Switch 2 earlier this year, the newly enhanced Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on December 8, 2025.

More Than a Simple Port

This release isn’t just a visual upgrade. The Director’s Cut introduces new content and features that make it more than a re-release. Chief among them is the inclusion of a full English dub — a first for Yakuza 0. Fans will also get an additional 26 minutes of story cutscenes, expanding character arcs and adding more narrative context to events that shape the series’ later entries.

Red Light Raid: A New Online Mode

The biggest addition is Red Light Raid, an online horde survival challenge that brings fresh energy to the classic title. Players can unlock and battle with up to 60 characters from across the Yakuza franchise, creating dream matchups and unexpected team-ups in a completely new arena setting. It’s a blend of fan service and gameplay variety that offers something outside the main story.

A New Way to Experience a Classic

First released in 2015, Yakuza 0 quickly became a cornerstone for the series, introducing many players worldwide to Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima’s intertwined journeys. The Director’s Cut is designed to appeal to both newcomers and veterans alike — whether you’re revisiting the neon-soaked streets of 1980s Kamurocho or experiencing them for the first time.

Why It Matters

Yakuza 0 has long been regarded as the perfect entry point into the Yakuza franchise, balancing heartfelt storytelling with chaotic brawls and eccentric side quests. By adding new narrative depth, updated voice options, and the online Red Light Raid mode, SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio are reintroducing the game as more than just a remaster — it’s a celebration of everything that made the series a cult favourite, now with a broader reach for modern consoles.

On December 8, 2025, players everywhere will have another chance to dive into one of the defining chapters of Yakuza — this time, with new surprises waiting around every corner.
